SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Director, Relationship Development will be responsible for managing special volunteer leadership initiatives, and together with senior Advancement leadership and fundraising teams, set annual Advancement board development goals up to and including collaborative creation, execution, and follow-up on donor engagement and recruitment initiatives. This position will work closely with the SVP to advance the volunteer engagement agenda by developing and implementing a strategic engagement plan that serves fundraising goals across the Museum. The primary functions will be management of special board initiatives, with a focus on cross-Division advancement projects and volunteer leadership management. The Director will meet individually and collectively with leading donors to deepen their involvement with the Museum. The Director will partner with the President's Senior Management Team and the President's Office to strategically shape the agendas, materials and presentations volunteer leadership meetings. Together with the President's Office, specifically engage in the board nomination strategy process. This role will provide administrative support for select Committees and Task Forces, as needed.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaboratively coordinate donor strategy, communication, marketing and event development for up to 10 Board, Task Force and Committee groups
  • Assist in the coordination of up to 25 Board, Task Force and Committee meetings and/or events, annually
  • In collaboration with the President's Office act as the liaison for volunteer engagement in order to increase philanthropic giving of up to 150 active board, committee and task force members.
  • Weekend, evening and some travel will be required


WORK SCHEDULE:

This position is full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, with some weekend, evening and travel required.


REPORTS TO:

Senior Vice President of Advancement


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors of Science or Arts degree.
  • 5 or more years of working with and managing high net-worth volunteers/donors in a fundraising environment experience.
  • Project Management
  • Event Scheduling and Planning


STARTING SALARY:

Exempt (Salaried). Commensurate with experience.
