SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Cash & Payroll Clerk is responsible for accurately and completely processing all forms of revenue for the entire Museum, reconciling to detailed backups, ensuring proper internal controls are followed. Serving as the primary backup for the Payroll Coordinator.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for all cash receipts ($1-2 million per month) for entire Museum that need to be recorded and reconciled by our month end close day that is the 8th business day of the month unless extended by the Controller.
  • Consolidate 160 deposits per month by the month end close date.
  • Backup for the processing of the bi-weekly payroll for over 500 employees ensuring timely transmission which is two days after the pay period end.
  • Preparing wire and support for retirement plan contributions on a bi-weekly basis no more than five days after the Museums payday. Making sure we are in compliance will all regulatory, state and federal filings as required, and various other reports as needed or requested by other departments.


WORK SCHEDULE:

This position is full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday.

Controller


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One (1) year or more years of accounting experience.
  • Post high school course work, technical degree, associate's degree or business certificate preferred.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workflow
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets


STARTING SALARY:

Non-Exempt (Hourly). Commensurate with experience.
