SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Senior Fundraising Events Coordinator assists the Fundraising Events team in creating, administering and executing all revenue-generating events within the Advancement Division, including the signature gala as well as peer-to-peer fundraising opportunities. These activities often serve as focal points for future donors' early perception of the Museum and will be crucial as Advancement works to grow its donor base. This position will be support the Director for Fundraising Events in managing the Fundraising Events Committee helping to empower those members to serve as ambassadors for all events. This position will support the Director of Fundraising Events in increasing revenue and growing the donor pool. This position will also be responsible for conducting related event briefings with the Advancement Division and President's Office as appropriate.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Together with the Director of Fundraising Events drive annual income through events to exceed $1,000,000 annually.
  • Support the Director of Fundraising events in maintaining a portfolio of 50+ individual and corporate prospects related to the Fundraising Events Initiative.
  • Assist with the coordination of the 12-person Fundraising Events Committee, comprised primarily of Trustees and Overseers; hold at least three meetings per year.
  • Assist the Director of Fundraising Events in the creation of one new revenue-generating event per year, grow the existing department accordingly.
  • Some evening and weekend work is occasionally required.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule with night work (weekend less frequently).


WORK SCHEDULE:

This position is full-time, 40 hrs/wk, Monday – Friday with occasional evenings and weekends.


REPORTS TO:

Director, Fundraising Events


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors of Science or Arts degree.
  • Three (3) or more years of fundraising, event planning, and/or donor management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating fundraising events and/or corporate events.
  • Demonstrated track record in soliciting gifts from individual, corporations and/or foundations.
  • Demonstrated experience in donor databases.
  • Demonstrated experience working with vendors.
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.


STARTING SALARY:

Non-Exempt (Hourly).
