Exhibit Technology Technician

SUMMARY STATEMENT:
A senior-level technician responsible for providing the necessary technical support for the maintenance, installation, and operation of various technology-based exhibits. Recommends and implements solutions for reoccurring maintenance problems, technical design concerns, or equipment failure. May be assigned to work with Technical Design staff in development and production of technical components within exhibits and provides necessary technical support to other departments. May be assigned specific projects in other areas of expertise and serves as a primary point of contact when manager and supervisor are unavailable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain over 230,000 square feet of exhibit hall space.
- Maintain and inspect over 550 interactive exhibits and over 200 computers, projectors, and pieces of electronic equipment.
- Daily preparation and shutdown of exhibit halls.
- Potential hazardous working situations - chemicals, shop equipment, heights over 35 feet.
- 40-hour work week including 1 weekend day, most holidays, and overtime as required.
- Instruct up to 4 trainings per year for other technicians in job skills and maintenance procedures for computers, AV equipment, and software.
- Schedule and coordinates up to 15 ongoing/preventative maintenance plans per year and analyzes recurring technical problems to recommend solutions.
WORK SCHEDULE:
This position is full-time, 40 hours/week, Tuesday - Saturday
REPORTS TO:
Manager, Exhibit Operations & Services
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- HS Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 or more years of Technology Maintenance experience
- Knowledge of computer systems, both hardware and software
- Knowledge of display, projection and/or sound systems
- Technical problem solving/troubleshooting skills
STARTING SALARY:
Non-Exempt (Hourly). $24.52 / hr
