In-Gallery Learning Program Presenter

In-Gallery Learning Program Presenters will be responsible for assisting with the oversight of the daily operations of In-Gallery Learning spaces (Hall of Human Life, Engineering Design Workshop, Charles River Field Station, and additional program spaces) during public hours, including training and mentoring volunteer educators and interns as they work with visitors. The Program Presenter will facilitate the use of exhibit components, present a variety of hands-on activities, and deliver demonstrations and/or presentations for small and large groups of visitors (within In-Gallery Learning spaces and other MOS venues). The Program Presenter will also be responsible for opening and/or closing In-Gallery Learning spaces, which may include light cleaning, maintenance, and materials preparation.


  • Oversee the daily operations of In-Gallery Learning spaces during Museum hours (5-6 hours "on-the-floor" daily).
  • Deliver hands-on activities and present demonstrations in the exhibitions and across MOS venues (up to 3 different activities per day)
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of volunteers, interns and youth staff, (2-12 volunteers, 1-4 interns, and 1-4 youth staff daily).
  • Assist in cleaning, organization and upkeep of programming spaces and programming materials (assist in up to 3 venues/day).


This position is part-time, 3 days a week consisting of 1 weekend day (Saturday or Sunday), and 2 weekdays (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday).

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6 or more months of demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a group setting as part of a multi-faceted team.

Non-Exempt (Hourly), $16.25/ hour

Staff, interns, and volunteers will be required to show proof that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. The Museum will consider an exemption from the vaccine requirement if they are unable to get vaccinated due to a qualifying medical disability or a sincerely held religious objection. The Museum is not required to provide an accommodation or exemption from the vaccine requirement if doing so would pose a direct threat to others in the workplace or would create an undue hardship for the Museum.
