SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Virtual Museum Programs Assistant will assist in the production of the Museum's virtual educational content including MOS at school and presentation simulcasts to create professional and innovative virtual programming. The Virtual Museum Programs Assistant will support live programming by helping in a technical capacity or moderating/cohosting programs, learning under the tutelage of the Museum AV Team. The Virtual Museum Programs Assistant will also work with others on the education team to develop educational video content in order to dazzle the Museum's virtual audiences in schools and at home.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide virtual education program support for a variety of STEM programs 3-4 days per week across various education channels.
  • Assist the team teaching virtual programs by serving in a program tech capacity (with training from the AV team), or moderating/co-hosting programs.
  • Collaborate with others in the department to develop 1 - 2 educational asynchronous videos (some script writing, idea generation, or on camera delivery).
  • Work with the education team to teach responsibly and safely using Museum resources.


WORK SCHEDULE:

This position is, temporary, part-time, until June 15, 2022. 8 hrs/day for 2 days a week on Monday and Tuesdays

Occasionally will work a flexible schedule including some holidays in order to accommodate special projects and request.

Farinon Director, Museum Programs


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 or more months of digital media tools and platforms (zoom, webinars and associated tech including cameras, microphones and lighting) experience.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work in a group setting
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously, paying close attention to detail
  • Basic camera operation and AV production skills


STARTING SALARY:

Non-Exempt (Hourly). $15.00

The Museum will consider an exemption from the vaccine requirement if they are unable to get vaccinated due to a qualifying medical disability or a sincerely held religious objection. The Museum is not required to provide an accommodation or exemption from the vaccine requirement if doing so would pose a direct threat to others in the workplace or would create an undue hardship for the Museum
