SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Grants Accountant ensures that all grant-funded activities are discharged and accounted for in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and donor restrictions. Meet various reporting requirements, both internal and external. Review and assist in the preparation and submission of grant proposals. Ensure integrity and availability of grant records off-line and within the Blackbaud Fundware accounting system. Maintain a working knowledge of all the regulatory requirements associated with the receipt and management of government grants and contracts.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage 75-125 active grants and contracts of various size and complexity.
  • Manage 50-70 pledges.
  • Submit 15-25 proposals per year.
  • Submit 15-25 payment requests per month.
  • Prepare 5-10 Journal entries monthly.
  • Complete 5-10 reconciliation monthly.


WORK SCHEDULE:

Monday – Friday. 9am – 5pm.


REPORTS TO:

Assistant Controller, Restricted Funds and Compliance


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science or Arts Degree
  • 2 or more years of grant accounting-related experience, including knowledge of OMB, CFR, and FAR regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pre-post award grant cycle including overall grants management.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects in a deadline-driven environment.
  • High level of initiative, attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under time-sensitive deadlines with minimal supervision.


STARTING SALARY:

Exempt (Salaried). $65,000 - $70,000
