SUMMARY STATEMENT:

Working with the Senior Director, Advancement Operations, the Senior Vice President of Advancement, Advancement leadership, and the Director of Event and Conference Services, the Associate Director of Advancement Events is responsible for the creation, implementation, and supervising execution of a strategic, relationship-driven model of Events. These activities serve as a focal point for stewarding existing donors, engagement of new and future donors, and securing annual income through a suite of external programming. Combined, these events and activities generate thousands of touchpoints between the Museum and the Greater New England Community that represents the impact the Museum has in the community.

Leading a staff of one and working closely with internal and external stakeholders, this position is responsible for centralized event strategy that contributes to and supports revenue goals and donor engagement. This includes roughly 50 events a year in collaboration with departments across the Museum. The Associate Director collaborates with Gift Officers to execute tailored programing and coordinates logistics including briefings, talking points, communications, and senior leadership engagement.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working with Senior Director, Advancement Operations, Advancement leadership, and Gift Officers, create and drive a cohesive events strategy designed to engage prospects and deepen engagement with existing donors
  • Work directly with Gift Officers to drive fundraising event asks for donors and prospects in their portfolios
  • Oversee one direct report in the Advancement Events department
  • Expected annual income through events to exceed $1,000,000 annually
  • Manages all aspects of roughly 50+ onsite and virtual events per year serving up to 500 guests per event
  • Manage Stars of STEM gala host committee and Marathon Team peer-to-peer fundraising efforts


WORK SCHEDULE:

This position is full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday. This role also requires the ability to maintain a flexible schedule with night work (weekend less frequently).


REPORTS TO:

Senior Director, Advancement Operations


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science or Arts.
  • 5 or more years of fundraising, event planning, and/or donor management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and managing fundraising events and/or corporate events
  • An understanding of virtual events, the technologies being used, and demonstrated experience in being able to bring virtual components together to produce a cohesive and valuable event experience for all participants.
  • Demonstrated experience in donor databases.
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.


STARTING SALARY:

Exempt (Salaried). $85,000-90,000/year
