ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP:

The FAO Schwarz Fellow will play a major role in enhancing the Museum's teen programs-both through direct service as part of our Education team and as part of an initiative to expand the Museum's community of and offerings for teens.


DIRECT SERVICE:

The Fellow's direct service work will focus on the Museum's school programs and school partnerships, helping to engage both with our community partners as well as with our youth/teens in a virtual format. The Fellow will represent the Museum as an Educator, helping with the following programs:

  • Recruit teens for internship positions and co-create professional development workshops as part of the Summer Youth Workforce Program.
  • Teach 1-2 presentations on 2-3 days each week to support the education team.
  • Lead programs for MOSatHome (Virtual) programming
  • Create community-building opportunities for teens as part of high school partnerships


PROJECT WORK:

The Fellow will be charged with creating new programming to bring teens together at the Museum, both in-person and virtually.

  • Identify existing community partners and connect with 5-10 new community partners to co-plan teen program opportunities.
  • Create/maintain partner database (master file) with contact names/information & program ideas.
  • Co-create 2-4 events (i.e. networking events for teens, internship and career nights, STEM and social justice events, etc.).
  • Help develop 1-2 community-building social events for teens in the Museum (i.e. workshops, film screenings, STEAM talent showcases, etc.).
  • Plan and implement, in conjunction with the Education team, virtual meet-ups for teens across the Boston area and beyond.



HOW TO APPLY:

Applicants must be college seniors at accredited four-year colleges or universities at the time of application and be eligible to work in the United States for the duration of the two-year Fellowship. For more about what we are seeking, please see What We're Looking For.
